Hey everyone, my name is Alan Chuang, and I am a computer science major at UC Davis. I am graduating this year, but plan on going to grad school for a Masters in CS with an emphasis on AI/ML.

If you could give your high school self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Try to find something you enjoy, and do something besides simply going to school. You don’t have to have your whole life planned out, but do be willing to try different things and really take the time to ask yourself what your qualities are, what you enjoy doing, etc.
Did you have any goals that pushed you throughout high school? How did you approach those? Are you still pursuing them now that you're out of high school? If not, why?
What experience had the greatest impact on you at EVHS?
Have you kept some relationships with the people you were with in high school?
Yes, some of my closest friends are the ones I made during high school. I definitely encourage you to put yourself out there during college, but it never hurts to keep in touch with your high school contacts.
Do you still live in San Jose? Why or why not?
What was your primary academic/extracurricular focus in high school?
I was in band and golf during high school. I didn’t really pursue anything related to my major, as I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do during high school. However, as long as you take the opportunities you are given, and are willing to adapt and work hard, it’s fine to not know what you want to do straight out of high school.
Are you in college? If so, which college and what major? Are you working? If so, where? If you're not in either of these, what are you doing now?
I attend UC Davis as a CS major.
