Hi! My name is Jasmine, and I'm a junior attend UC Davis as an Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior major. After graduating in 2024, I have plans to go to Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) School.

If you could give your high school self a piece of advice, what would it be?

I would tell myself to not stress too much about loading up my schedule with APs that aren't relevant or enjoyable to me.

Did you have any goals that pushed you throughout high school? How did you approach those? Are you still pursuing them now that you're out of high school? If not, why?

My parents have always told me to finish school, so that I can enjoy life comfortably. My goal is to fulfill that, as I feel that it's my way of repaying them for emigrating from their home in order to give me the opportunities and resources to do so.

What experience had the greatest impact on you at EVHS?

I think joining extracurriculars like clubs and sports had the most impact on me during my time at EVHS. Becoming a club officer for ACWP helped me build important skills like public speaking and leadership that I carry on in and outside the classroom to this day. Joining band and marching band encouraged self-confidence and taught me the importance of a community.

Have you kept some relationships with the people you were with in high school?

Yes, I'm fortunate to remain friends with my main group from high school, and am currently dating my boyfriend that I met as a sophomore.

Do you still live in San Jose? Why or why not?

I mostly live in Davis for school, unless I'm on break.

What was your primary academic/extracurricular focus in high school?

In terms of academics, I just wanted to make sure I had honors. I was a Public Relations Officer for ACWP, and was in Wind Ensemble and Marching Band for 3-4 years.

Are you in college? If so, which college and what major? Are you working? If so, where? If you're not in either of these, what are you doing now?

I'm an NPB major at UC Davis. I work as a rehabilitation aide (per diem) when I'm in San Jose, but mostly volunteer at a facility in Davis because of proximity.
