Class of
2007
I’m a graduate from EV’s class of 2007 and am fortunate enough to be teaching back at EV.

If you could give your high school self a piece of advice, what would it be?
Focus more on classes and get involved at school (sports, clubs, etc.)
Did you have any goals that pushed you throughout high school? How did you approach those? Are you still pursuing them now that you're out of high school? If not, why?
I had known that I wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 5th grade so at EV when we had small schools I chose humanities because it would help me on that path. I also was a TA for my former English teacher simply because I wanted to see what it was going to be like. So I would say my real drive was eventually having my own class one day. In high school I didn’t know that I wanted to teach high school.
What experience had the greatest impact on you at EVHS?
Have you kept some relationships with the people you were with in high school?
There are a few people I still keep in contact with but I would say the more significant ones is with Ms. Ames! She and I both graduated from EV, went to SJSU together, did part of our credential program together and now get to teach together :)
Do you still live in San Jose? Why or why not?
No, I commute to San Jose for work because it was more affordable to buy a house elsewhere and where we live is both half way to my work and half way for my husband.
What was your primary academic/extracurricular focus in high school?
I played softball my sophomore and junior year of high school and had a lot of fun. My strongest academic area was probably English and History.
Are you in college? If so, which college and what major? Are you working? If so, where? If you're not in either of these, what are you doing now?
I’m currently teaching US and World history at EV! I finished my masters program last year through Grand Canyon University
