Class of
2022
Hi there! My name is Sofia. I graduated EV in 2022 and was in CSD in my senior year. I'm currently at SJSU, studying Materials Engineering. I'm also currently working as a workshop facilitator for Introductory Chem at SJSU.

If you could give your high school self a piece of advice, what would it be?
I think I would have told my high school self to take more risks socially. Like talk to new people or participate more in events and clubs.
Did you have any goals that pushed you throughout high school? How did you approach those? Are you still pursuing them now that you're out of high school? If not, why?
One of my biggest goals throughout high school was just to do well academically, and that goal definitely extends into my life now. However, as opposed to high school where I did a lot of my studying independently, now I work in a bunch of study groups I've made with friends and classmates, and it's been so much more enjoyable and rewarding.
What experience had the greatest impact on you at EVHS?
I would definitely say my AP gov class with Mr. Devincenzi had one of the greatest impacts on me. I really enjoyed that class; it was a lot of fun and quite memorable! All my classmates and Mr. Devo are really really cool.
Have you kept some relationships with the people you were with in high school?
I have kept a good amount of my relationships with people from high school. I'm still in contact with my main friend group from there. I've also connected with a bunch of people that I didn't necessarily speak to in high school, but now talk to almost every day!
Do you still live in San Jose? Why or why not?
I do still live in San Jose because I'm attending school at SJSU.
What was your primary academic/extracurricular focus in high school?
I think I was pretty STEM focused in high school. I took both AB and BC calc, and also AP Phys 1 and 2. I also took Creative Writing as an elective in senior year because writing is a hobby of mine and I really enjoyed it!
Are you in college? If so, which college and what major? Are you working? If so, where? If you're not in either of these, what are you doing now?
I'm at SJSU and I'm a Materials Engineering major (I'm planning on maybe doing a chem minor as well)
